Belize Country Code

For data processing and communications and Belize and it's dependent areas is represent by a Belize Country code. Belize country code is a short numeric geographical code (geocodes) developed by the ISO 3166-1 system. Belize country code is freqently refered to as Belize dialing codes or Belize E.164 calling code.

Belize Country Code is used when dialing to Belize from outside Belize. Belize Country Code is however not used when dialing within Belize.

To call Belize from outside Belize, you have to dial the your own country's International Direct Dialing prefix (IDD), Belize Country Code, City/ Area Code, and then the subscriber telephone number as:

Your Countries International Direct Dialing Prefix (IDD) +501 (Belize Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call.

When dialing from a mobile phone outside Belize into Belize, Dial '+' +501 (Belize Country Code) + City Area Code + Number you wish to call. (The "+" can be reached by holding down the "0" key until it turns into a "+". The "+" is universal prefix for all international mobile telephone calls including Belize)

Belize International Direct Dialing prefix (or IDD) is used when dialing from the Belize to outside the country (Refer to international dialing Belize code or Belize international access code). Do not use Belize IDD when dialing within Belize.

Belize National Direct Dialing prefix (or NDD) is used when dialing to a destination within the Belize (Refer to dialing Belize code). Do not use Belize National Direct Dialing prefix when dialing from outside Belize into Belize. Belize NDD is only used as long distance dialing within the country.
